Age Requirements

Drivers must meet specific age requirements to rent a vehicle:

• Minimum age of 20 for car category A.
• Minimum age of 23 for categories B, B1, C, C1, Open top Economy, Economy Cabrio, Automatic B.
• Minimum age of 25 for other categories.

Note: Age verification is not made at the time of booking. If drivers do not meet age requirements –verified at the rental counter – they are not allowed to pick up the vehicle and they are charged the full rental fee.

Driver’s License

Drivers must have held a valid driver’s license for at least twelve (12) months.

Additional Drivers

An additional driver can be included in the Rental Agreement. The extra cost is 5 EUR/day/additional driver.

Mileage

Unlimited mileage is included in our rates.

Local Taxes & VAT

VAT (Value-Added Tax) and local taxes are included in our rates.

Fuel Policy

Same-to-Same fair fuel policy: Vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level as that of pick-up.

Traffic Violations & Fines

Any traffic violations and fines and penalties imposed during the rental period shall be borne by the renter. In case of not disclosing such violations to the company at the end of the rental period, this may incur charges to the renter.

Selection of Specific Car Model

Bookings are completed through the selection of specific car groups, encompassing various models with similar features. While we’re not obliged to reserve a particular car model or brand, we always try to satisfy your preferences. Upon request, we’ll do our best to accommodate you, always depending on availability and any last-minute changes.In case that there is no availability, a vehicle from a larger category may be provided at no extra cost.

Cancelation Policy

If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please notify us of any cancelation or modification as soon as possible. You can use our contact form or find our contact details at the bottom of the page. Cancelation is free of charge and you’ll receive a full refund if done up to 7 days prior to the scheduled pick-up of your vehicle.

One Way Rentals

One way rentals are available after prearrangement and confirmation referred to in the Rental Agreement. Some locations may incur an additional charge.

Delivery & Collection

Vehicles can be delivered/collected at/from certain locations –listed on our website– including airports, ports and hotels. After-hours services (22:00 – 08:30) may incur a charge of €25.

Car Replacement

In case of accident or breakdown, the vehicle will be replaced within 24 hours. For replacing the vehicle, the accident or damage is being examined, while we reserve the right to refuse any replacement if you have violated any of the terms and conditions of the Rental Agreement.

Child Seats

Three types of child seats (Infant, Baby, Booster) are available. Each additional seat incurs a fee of 3 €/day.

Flight Delays

There are no additional charges due to flight delays. Our staff monitors arrival times and arranges everything, ensuring prompt vehicle deliveries.

Vehicle Quality

We guarantee that we provide safe, perfectly-maintained vehicles.

Vehicle Inspection

Vehicles are thoroughly inspected by skilled professionals before delivery.

Road Map

Upon delivery, a recent map of the island of Crete is provided free of charge.

Key Loss

Renters are liable to pay for all costs associated with lost or damaged keys, including retrieving keys from locked vehicles.

Policy On Smoking & Cleaning Fees

As stated in the Rental Agreement, smoking is prohibited in the vehicle. If evidence of smoking is present in the vehicle or if the vehicle is returned excessively dirty -dirt, sand, or animal hair etc.,- the renter shall pay a cleaning fee of no less than 80.00 EUR.

Damage To Tires

Non-repairable/burst tires are not covered by insurance.

Transportation of a Vehicle on a Ferry/Traveling Abroad

Transportation of a vehicle on a ferry or traveling abroad is strictly forbidden.

Cancelation Policy & Flexibility About Administrative Fees

If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please notify us of any cancelation or modification as soon as possible. You can use our contact form or find our contact details at the bottom of the page. Cancelation is free of charge and you’ll receive a full refund if done up to 7 days prior to the scheduled pick-up of your vehicle.
If you decide to cancel your booking before confirmation, you will receive a refund of the prepaid amount. In case of cancelation within 2 hours of confirmation and if the rental start date is within 48 hours, an administration fee of €25 applies before issuing the refund. Upon confirmation, you will receive a reservation confirmation email. It’s crucial to read all details, including car category and gearbox type, as cancelations at the rental counter are not permitted, on the condition that all terms outlined on the voucher are met. Failing to show up and pick up the reserved vehicle is considered a no-show.

Rental Extension

If you wish to extend your rental period after having already picked up the vehicle, it is imperative to contact our company promptly to check for vehicle availability. We reserve the right to deny rental extensions if the vehicle has already been booked by another customer.

If an extension is feasible, a grace period of one (1) hour is granted without incurring additional charges, provided that our company is notified of the extension and you have obtained full permission. Beyond this grace period, hourly charges of €10 apply.

Concerning extensions after midnight (00:00 AM), half-day rental charges apply, while after 8:30 a.m., full-day rental charges are applicable.

Please note that it is imperative to obtain explicit permission from our company before returning the vehicle later than the agreed drop-off time. Any delay without prior permission may result in additional charges, as insurance expires after the agreed duration of the rental period.

Use of Car:

Any insurance cover and waiver referred to in the Rental Agreement are valid only on the condition that the renter fully complies with all terms and conditions herein.

All insurance policies provided shall remain effective up to the specified coverage limit as defined by the contract of each insurance company. It is expressly stated that Panavia Trust P.C. does not extend insurance coverage, and therefore, assumes no responsibility for compensation in any form. For any compensation claims, the insurance provider shall be solely responsible.

In case of accident, it is imperative that the renter follow the following steps:

• Right after the accident, the renter must check the vehicle thoroughly for any damages and notify our office of any findings or local law enforcement promptly, without moving the vehicle.
• If the renter fails to report the accident and any damages within one (1) hour of the incident, this means that the renter is legally responsible to pay for any repairs required.
• Upon return of the rental vehicle, no accident or damage report will be accepted, on the condition that there was no prior notification to our office of the incident.

Furthermore, it is essential that renters understand that the company reserves the right to claim compensation for any damages caused under various circumstances, including, but not limited to:

• Driving on unauthorized roads, unpaved roads, dirt roads or off-road (e.g., Balos beach), whether intentionally or unintentionally (this may incur a fine of up to 500€).
• Traffic rule violations, such as disregarding road signs, exceeding the speed limit, violating rules concerning road directions, making illegal U-turns, or overtaking in areas with low visibility and where overtaking is prohibited.
• Engaging in distracting activities while driving, diverting their attention from the road or in case of parking violations.
• Participating in any form of road rallies driving the vehicle or using the vehicle for reward, such as taxi or courier service, without prior permission.
• Allowing an individual who is disqualified from holding a driver’s license or has never possessed a driver’s license appropriate for the rented vehicle to drive the vehicle or permitting an individual not explicitly referred to in the Rental Agreement to operate the vehicle.
• Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, affecting a driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle.
• Intentionally or recklessly misusing the vehicle, leading to damages, such as those caused through strong winds to the vehicle’s doors or body, damages to the clutch or gearbox, damages to the vehicle’s interior, damages caused from animals or damages resulting from sitting, standing or placing objects on the vehicle’s bonnet, boot or roof.

If there are any warning lights on the vehicle’s dashboard, it is imperative that the renter notify the company of this matter without delay.

In case of violating any of the terms and conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement, our company reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement and reclaim possession of the vehicle forthwith. This right is particularly enforceable in cases where the renter misuses or operates unsafely the vehicle. Furthermore, our company reserves the right to seek compensation for any damages incurred as a result of any violation of the terms or misuse of the vehicle, in accordance with the terms of the Rental Agreement and applicable laws.

Accident Reporting Policy

In case of accident, it is essential that you contact our company immediately to receive guidance on how to proceed. It is strictly prohibited to leave the scene of the accident without reporting it. If you are unable to reach our company, contact the local authorities promptly.

Failing to provide a comprehensive report to our company may result in liability for the costs of repairing any damage to the rental vehicle. Additionally, if there are any injuries to the driver or passengers, it is imperative that you inform authorities and seek medical assistance promptly.

If the other party, involved in the accident, leaves the scene, it is necessary to document its license plate number or take photographs for future reference. Our company will also undertake to contact the insurance partner to complete an incident report.

Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and renters are excluded from insurance cover as a deterrent. Furthermore, any traffic rule violations or unauthorized use of the vehicle may lead to additional charges and liabilities.
